Sophia Dieter was one place away from qualifying for the State Speech Tournament as a junior last year, yet chose to attend to not only support her teammates who went to state, but also to get a feel for what that experience was all about.
As it turns out, it was a good thing she did so.
Dieter, a senior at Tracy Area High School, finished third in the Section 3A State Tournament this past weekend, qualifying her for this year’s State Speech Tournament, which will take place Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, at Eastview High School
