City open to trading park land for housing

Tracy has always been proud of its park system, to the point where it has used its multiple parks as a recruiting tool for new families.

Some of those parks contain plenty of greenspace that isn’t being utilized, and in an effort to locate buildable lots for future, single-family housing, the Tracy City Council on Monday unanimously voted to set in motion a plan to turn some of those areas into possible sites for future housing projects.
