New school year will mean new faces at TAPS

The Tracy Public School District is not immune to the current teacher shortage, but at Monday’s District No. 2904 School Board meeting, it received some good news in regards to the issue.

The school board on Monday approved the resignations of two elementary teachers, while at the same time accepting the hiring of a number of new faces for the 2023-24 school year.

Kayla Rohlik and April Gunderson will leave the district after this school year, while six new teachers will join the district: Kali Tomlinson (elementary), Shawn Geigle (elementary), his wife, Danielle Geigle (Speech Language Pathologist), Emily Agustin (elementary), Mary Leach (AG/English/ESL) and Katelyn Elton (high school band teacher). Elton will replace Vicki Streifel, who filled in in many different ways this school year.
