Fundraising efforts for a new community center in Tracy received a major boost last week thanks to Sanford Health in Tracy.

Sanford has pledged $50,000 over the next five years for a new community center.

Between pledges, donations and restricted City funds earmarked for a new center, more than $765,000 has been raised for a new building. The Community Center Workforce Group has set $850,000 as its fundraising goal.

The new center will be built at the corner of 3rd and Morgan streets and may or may not be attached in some way to the City Hall/Veterans Memorial Center building on Morgan.
