To honor & respect: A special tribute soon to arrive in Slayton

triotic touch at this year’s Murray County Fair in Slayton, one designed to quietly honor the more than 58,200 U.S. soldiers lost during the Vietnam War.

This year’s fair will feature the Vietnam Memorial Wall & Cost of Freedom Exhibit known as the American Veterans Traveling Tribute, presented by the Slayton American Legion Erwin March Post 64. The wall will be escorted from Fulda to Slayton about noon on Tuesday, Aug. 15, and will be set up at the Murray County United Soccer Fields on Juniper Ave. from 1-3 p.m. Opening ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. that day, followed by entertainment at 8 p.m.
