Of Minnesota’s 87 counties, Murray County beats only 12 in total population, yet the county ranks 13th in the state for 4-H enrollment. A quarter of Murray County school-aged youth (ages 5-17) are involved in 4-H in some way, whether through after-school programs, 4-H camps or the county fair.

Agriculture Extension Educator Melissa Runck credits 4-H’s success in the county to the community’s closeness.
