Gerald Lee “Gary” Sandbo, 77, of Lindsborg passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Salina Regional Health Center. Gary was born April 25, 1946 in Tracy, MN to the late Julius and the late Bernice (McMahon) Sandbo, who later married the late Merwin Mose. He married Suzanne Cain on June 16, 1973 at Tracy, MN.
Gary earned two master’s degrees and was a career educator and coach at the high school and collegiate level. Gary was a United States Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War.
He was a member of St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindsborg. Gary was also an active member of the Kiwanis Club, Lindsborg.
Survivors include his wife: Suzanne (Cain) Sandbo of the home; sons: Matt Sandbo (Laura) of McPherson, KS, Mike Sandbo (Kristy) of Wichita, KS, and Mark Sandbo (Sarah) of Salina, KS; as well as his grandchildren: Kyndall, Maryn, Audra, Madisyn, Kailyn, Easton, Mason, and Rilynn Sandbo; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Alma Satran; and brother-in-law: Dr. Leon Satran.
Cremation has been chosen. A celebration of life will be held at 5:30pm on Thursday, October 12th at Presser Hall on the campus of Bethany College.
