Longtime Tracy Area High School coach Rick Haberman, the target of a campaign to remove him from the sidelines of boys’ basketball and volleyball contests, has resigned as head varsity coach of the basketball team.
He submitted his resignation letter to the district on Nov. 2.
Haberman will remain the varsity volleyball coach.
“I have resigned because I do not want to be a distraction for the basketball program, and because it is a good time for me to step back from things right now,” Haberman said Monday.
