Taking a swim in the lake is a pretty common activity in Minnesota. After all, we are home to more than 10,000 lakes.
So is golf, with an abundance of inviting links dotting every corner of Minnesota to which golfers flock.
But in January?
If you want to partake in those tride-and-true pastimes at this time of year, you’ll have to head to Balaton’s Lake Yankton on Saturday.
For the second straight year, Balaton Fire & Ambulance is putting on an Ice Golf Tournament and Polar Plunge at Lake Yankton.
The event is the brainchild of Jared Hively, Curt Paradis and Jeremy Swenson, who years ago wanted to come up with something people could do outdoors during the dead of winter. Needless to say, the idea was a hit.
