Pauline Mae Schmidt was born in Tracy on May 12, 1929 to Carl and Nellie Petersen and passed away on March 15, 2024. Pauline, along with her husband of more than 60 years, Vernon, owned and operated the Friendly Inn Cafe in Tracy. Upon moving to California in 1963 they both were employed by the Long Beach School District until their retirement. She was an active member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church helping to produce quilts for charity and tireless helper at church dinners and events. Pauline had been a resident of Vista Del Mar Assisted Living and Memory Care in Long Beach until her passing.
She is survived by daughters Christine (Erik) Sanburg, San Pedro, Laurel (Steven) Sykora, Garden Grove, granddaughters Jennifer Foti, Heather Magdelano, Holly Sykora, 1 great-grandson and 1 great-great-grandson.
Service will be a private family gathering.
